Virginia & the International Tattoo

Our adventure begins with a day of driving as we make our way to Louisville, KY. Enjoy the scenic views along the route while getting to know your fellow travelers. In the evening, we’ll arrive in Louisville, where you can unwind and explore the local dining scene. Rest up for the exciting days ahead!

After breakfast, we’ll continue our journey toward Virginia Beach. Along the way, get ready for a surprise stop in Kentucky, where you’ll enjoy an included lunch and intriguing activities that add an element of excitement to the day! After our mystery stop, we’ll head to Lewisburg, WV, where we’ll spend the night. Breakfast and Lunch included.

We’ll depart from Lewisburg in the morning and make a late-morning stop in Richmond, VA. After our historical adventure, we’ll continue to Virginia Beach. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel on the Virginia Beach boardwalk, where you can relax and take in the stunning coastal views. Tonight, we will have dinner together at a popular Virginia Beach restaurant. Breakfast and Dinner included.

This day is packed with exploration! We’ll have a step-on guide to tour Virginia Beach, starting with a visit to the iconic King Neptune Statue, a symbol of the city’s coastal culture. Next, we’ll visit the historic Cape Henry Lighthouse and the First Landing Cross, where the first English settlers arrived in America. As we drive by the Oceana Naval Air Station, you’ll get a glimpse of the military presence in the area. In the afternoon, enjoy a 90-minute narrated dolphin cruise, where you’ll have the chance to see these playful creatures in their natural habitat. Afterward, the rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure—relax on the beach, explore local shops, or savor a treat at a seaside café. In the evening, we’ll gather for a delicious dinner at a popular restaurant while preparing ourselves for an exhilarating experience at the International Tattoo tomorrow, where we’ll witness breathtaking performances featuring military bands, drill teams, and cultural displays from around the world. This is an exciting day of military pageantry! We’ll visit Nauticus, an interactive maritime museum, and explore the Battleship Wisconsin, one of the largest battleships ever built. Then, immerse yourself in the NATO Parade of Nations, celebrating the diverse cultures of 29 NATO countries. Enjoy a scenic tour aboard the Victory Rover, where a boxed lunch will be included for your convenience. The day culminates at NATO Fest, an outdoor festival featuring exhibits from 29 NATO nations, live music, and the Hullabaloo featuring the American Pipe Band Championship, dancing, drill routines, drumming exhibitions, and more! Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.

After leaving Virginia Beach, we’ll stop in Staunton, VA, for a delicious lunch. This afternoon, we’ll visit the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine, where you can take an insightful tour of this historic site and learn about the coal mining industry. After our visit, we’ll continue our journey and spend the night in Charleston, WV. Breakfast and Lunch included.

Our final day takes us back to Louisville, KY, where we’ll stop at the Frazier Museum, “where the world meets Kentucky, and the official starting point of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. After the museum visit, you’ll have time for lunch on your own in the area. Later, we’ll travel to O’Fallon, MO, for an overnight stay at the Drury Inn & Suites, where you can enjoy the Kickback dinner, a delightful way to end our adventure together.
