Alaska Cruise Tour

You will provide your own transportation to the airport or travel together at your own expense. Lodging will be decided by Princess Cruises.

Use this time to enhance your Alaska experience with an optional land excursion. There is plenty to do and see in Fairbanks.

Board an authentic sternwheeler for a 3-hour cruise along the Chena and Tanana Rivers. See a bush pilot’s demonstration, watch a fish wheel in operation and see the “Wedding of the Rivers,” where the Chena and Tanana Rivers converge. Alaska native guides take you to an Athabascan fishing village where you experience traditional Native lifestyles, enjoy the work of an Athabascan beadwork artist, and meet dogs from Susan Butcher’s kennels. Take a motorcoach to Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge where you will enjoy two nights lodging. There are many food options, a dinner show, live outdoor music, fire pits, and a beautiful river with mountains all around.

Enjoy a 4 ½ hour scenic bus journey on a Natural History Tour. Find out about the local native culture and their stories at Primrose Ridge. Spend the evening relaxing on the deck and enjoying the stunning views of the Nenana River Canyon. There are other optional excursions you can schedule in the hotel lobby area.

Enjoy the beautiful 9 ½ hour, scenic rail journey on a glass domed train through some of the best wilderness in the Great Land on the Direct-to-the-Wilderness rail service. Once in Whittier, you’ll step from the train onto the ship for the beginning of the unforgettable cruise on the Royal Princess Cruise ship which sails at 8:30 p.m.

Experience scenice cruising as you encounter the beautiful Hubbard Glacier just outside your stateroom window. Many passenergs take in the sights from one of the ships on-deck restaurants or from the open deck.

One of the highlights of Alaska's Inside Passage is the 3.3 million acres of Glacier Bay National Park. You will experience the grandeur and power of Alaska's glaciers from the comfort of the ship.

Icy Strait Point from 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. There are 19 excursions to choose from. Some of those include whale watching, jeep and kayak adventures, ocean rafting, a zip ride, sky glider mountain top gondolas, tribal dances and many more.

Juneau from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Excursions you may enjoy might include Mendenhall Glacier, outdoor adventures, whale watching, glacier flightseeing, Glacier Gardens, dog sledding, Mt. Roberts Tramway, or a salmon hatchery. There are 51 excursions to choose from.

Ketchikan from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Some of the excursions include outdoor adventures, Totem Bight Park, Saxman Native Village, Alaskan Rainforest Sanctuary, Misty Fjords National Monument, a lumberjack show, George Inlet Lodge, and Creek Street. There are 39 excursions to choose from.

Arrive in Vancouver, British Columbia at 7:30 a.m. Travel by coach to the airport and we fly home to Kansas City.
