Asheville’s Autumn Splendor

On our way to Nashville, we will enjoy the fall foliage in Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We are sure to see some brilliant colors as we are getting to know each other along the way. Tonight, we will have dinner at the Drury Inn & Suites in Nashville, TN after we check in.

This morning we will stop at our favorite rest stop, Buc-ee’s, in Crossville, TN on our way to the charming town of Asheville, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We will start off with a trolley tour of the historic districts and the quaint historic Biltmore Village. After the tour, quench your thirst in one of the town’s original craft breweries for a tour and sampling of their beers. Later we check into the Doubletree Hotel for a fun-filled three-night stay. We will have time to freshen up before having a group dinner.

We begin our day at one of the country’s top Lionel train museums, Smoky Mountain Trains. Then, be ready for a day full of fall fun on a scenic railing experience, savoring the dramatic fall views of Western North Carolina’s majestic mountains. Enjoy the “Shine and Dine” excursion on the railway, enjoying a chef-prepared lunch paired with hand-crafted, triple-distilled craft moonshine in the GSMR All-Adult First-Class Moonshine Car! Tonight, we enjoy dinner on our own at one of the many wonderful restaurants in Biltmore Village.

Today, we are visiting America’s largest privately owned home, the Biltmore! Enjoy a tour of this impressive 250-room chateau and stroll among gardens designed by Frederick Law Olmstead. Following our tour of the estate, enjoy an included lunch at the Stable Cafe on the property. After lunch we will visit Antler Hill Village (at the Estate). Here we’ll find an introduction to farm life and farm animals that were an integral part of life on the estate. Later this afternoon, we will visit the award-winning Biltmore Winery for a wine tasting! After a short time back at the hotel, we will gather for an included dinner at one of Asheville’s great restaurants.

Today, we leave the beautiful foliage in Asheville and travel into the Daniel Boone National Forest on our way to our “Smith Tours Surprise Stop” before arriving in Corydon, IN at the Holiday Inn Express. A restful sleep will be at the top of tonight’s list after a busy three days in Asheville.

This morning, after a hot breakfast, we will make our journey home while taking in all of the colors that surround us. We hope you will share some of your travel moments and memories with family and friends when you arrive home from this fun-filled trip.
